Roxie B. Bowling, 91, of Findlay, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. She was born June 5, 1923 in Willard, Ohio to the late Ernie and Grace (Hamlin) Risner. On March 2, 1946 she married Reverend Harold Bowling in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and he preceded her in death last year.
Roxie was a homemaker for many years and a faithful helpmate and support to Reverend Bowling who pastored three churches and also served four years as Ohio District Superintendent. During this time, Mrs. Bowling served as President of the Pentecostal Ladies Auxiliary.
Roxie is survived by her children, Dave Bowling of Arlington, Bill (Lori) Bowling of Findlay, Regina (William) Wiley of Findlay, and Tonia (Terry) Siler of Findlay; 12 grandchildren, Traci, Troy, Angi, Andrea, Stefani, Jason, Chase, Cory, Kenzie, Kylee, Tessa, and Zach; 15 great-grandchildren, Dustin, Evan, Zachary, Conner, Alyssa, Brice, Easton, Alexis, Kensey, Grace, Eli, Logan, Memphis, Hank, and Levi; 3 brothers, Paul, Ernest, and Terry; and one sister, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Milo, Derry, Monroe, and Kenneth; sister, Donna Jean; and 2 grandchildren, Brooke and Benjamin.
Family and friends may visit from 1:00-5:00 PM on Sunday at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A Funeral Service and Celebration of Roxie’s Life will be held at 11:00 on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Donnie Goodwin officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be held at Seneca Memory Gardens in Tiffin, Ohio, US Rte. 224, on Monday directly following the service. Memorial contributions in Roxie’s name may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
