Eduardo Vasquez, 71, of Findlay, passed away on January 10, 2015 at his residence, with family by his bedside. He was born November 30, 1943 in Dumas, TX to the late Prudenciano and Mercedes (Abrego) Vasquez. He married Gloria Vasquez on July 31, 1964 and they later divorced. He later married Chalee Vasquez on March 29, 1996 and they later divorced.
Eduardo spent nearly 40 years working at the former Atlas Crankshaft Corp. in Fostoria, OH. He began his career in 1970 as a machine operator, and quickly moved to supervision. He managed both the piston pin and camshaft lines. Eddie retired in 1999, but was quickly asked to return for another 5 years of service before his final retirement. Eddie loved his work family, and they loved him as well! A yearly reunion has been held in his honor each year since his retirement. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to country/western music, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.
Eduardo is survived by his sons, Eddie Vasquez, Jr. of Gulfport, MS; Robert (Kerri) Vasquez of Delta, OH; daughter, Maria Elena Reinhart of Findlay, OH; brothers, Tony (Jean) Vasquez and Leo (Etelvina) Vasquez of Rupert, Idaho; sisters, Griselda Ruffner of Salt Lake City, UT, Hilda (Randy) Lammert of Lemoyne, NE; grandchildren, Nathan and Danielle Reinhart of Findlay, OH, Brandon, Rileigh, Evan and Cruz Vasquez of Delta, OH. Eduardo was preceded in death by his parents (Prudenciano and Mercedes); sister, Minerva Monreal; brothers, Henry and Pete Vasquez.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Knollcrest Memory Gardens Cemetery.
