Dorthey Mae Garlow, 91, of Findlay, passed away on January 28, 2015 at her residence. She was born April 21, 1923 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Fredrick J. and Edith May (Fagan) Garlow.
Dorthey was a secretay/bookkeeper for John Sausser Steel Company before retiring after 72 years of service. She was a member of First Christian Church, Findlay, OH and Charter member of American Business Women’s Association.
Dorthey is survived by her brothers, Oakley (“Bud”) Garlow of Sun City, AZ and William P. (Cheryl) Garlow of Perrysburg, OH; sister, Mary Ellen (Joe) Byal; nieces, Ellen Hatch of Glendale, AZ, Susan Garlow, Claire Garlow of New Jersey, Kitrina Feller of Arlington, OH; nephews, Thomas Garlow of Arizona, Geoffrey Garlow of Portage, IN, Fred Garlow of New Jersey, Steven Byal of Dunkirk, OH, Michael Byal of Arlington, OH; 12 great-nieces and nephews; 1 great-great niece; and 1 great-great nephew. Dorthey was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Zenola Garlow, Marie Garlow; and a brother, DeMaurice Garlow.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 A.M at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Dorthey’s name may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice of Findlay.
