Gregory “Greg” J. Rizzuto, 44, of Findlay, passed away unexpectedly at Blanchard Valley Hospital on Monday, January 13, 2014. Greg was born on January 31, 1969 in Boston, MA to George and Catherine (Kearney) McGhee. Greg and his brother Sean were adopted into the family of Lt. Col. Anthony and Joyce (Ryder) Rizzuto, in 1982. The family relocated to Colorado Springs, CO in 1986 and Greg chose to remain in Ohio where he lived until his death.
Greg graduated from Findlay High School in 1987. He later attended classes at The University of Findlay. Greg was a plethora of knowledge, an avid gardener, and a committed sports fan. If you know Greg, you knew of his intense love for The New England Patriots and The Boston Red Sox. He will best be remembered by his generosity; if he had the ability to give, he would.
Greg is survived by his fiancé Jo’Delle Rutter and Rizzy (their beloved four-legged daughter) of Findlay; his birth mother; his adoptive parents; siblings, Karen, Alexis, Peter and Sean of MA; natural siblings, Catherine Wetzel of FL, Laurie McGhee and Jackie Walsh of MA; nephews and nieces, Ashley and Michael Periera of NH, Nicholas and Leah Rizzuto of MA, Michael, Dawn and Ryan McGhee of MA, Christopher, Zachary, Christine and Sabrina Walsh of MA; and Angel and Autumn Wetzel of FL.
Greg leaves behind many devoted friends including “the boys”, their foreign exchange students in the international program at The University of Findlay.
A Celebration of Greg’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 18th, from 1:00-3:00 P.M at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A private gathering will be held at a different location following the service at 4:00 P.M In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Greg’s name may be made to the family in c/o the funeral home.
