Ernest F. Wiechman

Ernest Frederick Wiechman, 91, of Findlay, passed away on October 23, 2015 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born June 14, 1924 in Pemberville, OH to the late Fred and Elizabeth (Shumaker) Wiechman. Ernest married Waunetta (Evans) Wiechman on June 13, 1948 at St. James Lutheran Church and she survives.

Ernest proudly served his country in the US Army from 1942 – 1945 before being honorably discharged. He graduated in 1942 from Montgomery Local, Wayne, OH. Ernest worked for Ohio Farmers in Fostoria for 14 years and Whirlpool in Findlay for 20 years before retiring. He was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bradner, OH and a member of the American Legion in Bettsville, OH. Ernest enjoyed music and going camping.

Ernest is survived by his 6 children, Robert (Rhea) Wiechman, Karen (James) White, Marsha Trimble, Gloria (Ron) Casebolt, Dennis (Pam) Wiechman and Carol Sidle; 12 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 7 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Mielke, Dorothy (John) Brubaker. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard, Robert (infant); infant daughter, Diane.

Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Lutheran Church, Bradner, OH with Pastor Melody Haack officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow in Graham Cemetery, Wayne, OH.  Memorial contributions in Ernest’s name may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Bradner, OH or the Wounded Warriors Project.
