Richard “Don” Osborne

Richard “Don” Donnel Osborne, 80, of Findlay, passed away at 12:06 A.M on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born July 4, 1933 to the late Lonnie and Fannie Kate (Trent) Osborne. He married Lillian Maxine Conrad on August 22, 1951 and she survives.

Don joined the United States Army in 1948 and served his country for four years. He was a Corporal and fought on the front line for nine months during the Korean War. Don received the Korean Service Medal with 3 bronze stars and 2 bronze campaign stars, and also received the Japan Occupational Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1952. Don joined the Marine Corp. in 1953 and served for over a year at Paris Island, South Carolina. Following his years of service, Don worked at the Kodak Lab for 30 years before retiring in 1983.

Don is survived by his wife Lillian; daughter, Sandra Osborne of Portage, MI; son, Darrin (Deanna) Osborne of Bluffton, OH; grandchildren, Brittany (Kevin) Klok, Shane (Tara) Osborne, Corey Osborne, Seth Osborne, Kama (Paul) Kett; great-grandchildren, Gregory Osborne, Angelia Osborne, Alexis Kett, Landen Osborne, Troy Bush, Brooklyn Klok, Saige Klok; and sister, Jackie (Frank) Little of Trenton, OH. Don is preceded in death by his son, Danny Osborne.

Friends and Family may visit on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M Monday evening directly following visitation with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. The Hancock County Veteran’s Memorial Squad will be performing full military rites. Memorial contributions in Don’s name may be made to Hancock County Honor Flight or the Wounded Warrior Project.
