Ida Marion (Baur) Wells, 90, of Findlay, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2019. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 11, 1928. On June 28, 1952, Ida was united in marriage to Rev. Carl Leslie Wells and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2015.
Ida and her husband were missionaries with Baptist Church Planters who established and helped nine churches. Her passion was teaching children for the past 65 years. As a member of First Baptist Church, she was actively involved in teaching in the kids club, Jr. Church, working in the nursery, VBS, cleaning the church or wherever she could help out.
Ida is survived by her four children, Dave Wells and his wife LaVonne of Ormond Beach, FL, Edie Maskell and her husband Pastor Michael Maskell of Findlay, OH, Pastor Tim Wells and his wife Donna of Boise, ID and Tom Wells and his wife Martha of Lewisville, N.C.; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1635 Fostoria Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840 where her son Rev. Tim Wells and her son-in-law, Rev. Michael Maskell will officiate the service. Calling hours will be from 9 – 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Spring Cemetery in Springboro, PA. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions in Ida’s name may be made to First Baptist Church, 1635 Fostoria Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840 or Pinecrest Baptist Church, 379 Greenwood St., Millbury, MA 01527 where she served as a missionary for 10 years.
