Paul G. Lonsway, 83, of Findlay, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2016 surrounded by family. He was born August 3, 1932 to the late Raymund and Eulalia (Lamberjack) Lonsway in Carey, OH. He married the love of his life, Alice M. (Hoffman) Lonsway, June 1, 1957 and they shared 58 blessed years together.
Paul enjoyed spending time with family and cookouts. His hobbies included coon hunting, watching the Buckeyes and enjoying horses and ponies with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post #0344 of Carey, OH. Paul proudly served his country in the US Army before being honorably discharged. He attended Carey High School and graduated from Allied School of Mechanical Trades Inc. in Chicago and earned his associate’s. Paul retired from United Aircraft after 35 years of service.
Paul is survived by his wife; sons, Steven P. (Cynthia) Lonsway of Findlay, Gregory A. Lonsway of Bellefontaine; daughter, Cheri (Brad) Bowman of Mt. Blanchard; grandchildren, Christopher Turner, Tony Lonsway, Eric, Zachary, and Luke Bowman, Meagan and Amy Lonsway; 1 great-grandchild, Beckett Turner; and sister, Mildred Franz of Upper Sandusky. In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by daughter, Karen M. Lonsway; brothers, William, Eugene, and James Lonsway; and sister, Rosemary Pratt.
A time of visitation will be held from Noon to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay St. (small original shrine church), Carey, OH. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carey, OH with the Hancock County Veteran’s Memorial Squad performing full military rites. After burial, family and friends are welcome to a reception at the Shrine Cafeteria, 315 Clay St., Carey, OH. Memorial contributions in Paul’s name may be made to Cancer Patient Services or Great NW Ohio Diabetes Association.
