Gabriel W. Poland, 33, of Findlay, passed away on January 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 1, 1982 in Findlay to Jonathan P. Poland and Robin (Rath) Routson. He married Bailey (Shoemaker Richards) Poland and she survives.
In addition to his father, Gabriel is survived by his second mother, Lauralyn K. (Brumbaugh) Poland, siblings, Travis L. (Erika) Poland, Ashley Flores, Ray (Amanda) Flores, Elijah Routson, and Luke Routson; nephew, Adam Flores; brother-in-law, Braden Richards Jr.; sister-in-law, Hannah Bree Richards; father/mother-in-law, Braden (Beth) Richards; father-in-law, Ryan Shoemaker. Gabriel is also survived by grandparents, Mike (Pat) Poland, Bill (Annetta) Ward, Don (Sharon) Buckles, Bob (Karen) Shoemaker, Jack (Carol) Richards, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gabriel loved the Chicago Cubs, was an avid reader, enjoyed collecting Marvel and G.I. Joe action figures and loved comic books since the age of 8 years old. He was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, was an undergraduate from the University of Cincinnati, received his Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University, and was a member of Mensa International. Gabriel lived with Cystic Fibrosis and received a double lung transplant in 2012.
Gabriel was preceded in death by his mother, Robin (Rath) Routson.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held following visitation at 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Dutch Vander Vlucht officiating.
