Bonnie L. Fisher, 71, of Findlay, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at St. Catherine’s Manor in Findlay. She was born on November 8, 1942 to Carl J. and Trela V. (Brickman) Wisner.
Bonnie was a graduate of Findlay High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Akron in 1972. She was a teacher in the Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio School System before becoming a Counselor in the Mt. Vernon, Ohio School System.
Bonnie raised herbs as a hobby at her 117 acre farm in West Virginia, and this turned into a business resulting in her becoming a professional herbiest, lecturer, and author. Her writing appeared frequently in the New York Times and Organic Gardening. She also wrote many books about herbs. After retiring, she moved to Florida and resided in Sun City Center where she was active in all community activities.
Bonnie is survived by her brothers, William E. (Ruth) Wisner, of Houston, Texas and John E. (Nancy) Wisner of Findlay. She was preceded in death by her parents.
At Bonnie’s request, all services will be private. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial Contributions in Bonnie’s name may be made to St. Catherine’s Manor
