Larry Frank Sammet, 66, of Findlay, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 16, 2014. He was born on December 5, 1947 in Findlay to Frank and Alice (Ackerman) Sammet. He married Elaine M. (Ulrich) Willier on November 11, 1967 and she survives.
Larry was the eldest of 6 brothers. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1967-1971 before being honorably discharged. He started working for Beppler & Staley Plumbing and Heating in 1970 before starting his own business; Sammet Plumbing, in 1976. He was an avid dancer, starting out with Country dancing. He had a dance class for many years before getting into ballroom dancing, which he enjoyed just about every weekend. Larry was full-of-life, fun-loving, and loved by all.
Larry is survived by his sons, Robert (Lorraine), James (Jenny), and Jonathan Sammet; grandchildren, Nicholas, Levi, Keegan, Karlie, Jadyn, Faith and Owen Sammet; and 4 younger brothers, Jerry, David, Garry, and Terry Sammet. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kenneth.
Friends and family may visit from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Jerry Sammet officiating. Interment will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery with the Hancock County Veteran’s Memorial Squad performing full military rites. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to the family in c/o Hufford Family Funeral Home.
